Factors for Growth in the Past

The growth in the development of residential complexes in Dahisar West kick started the growth process in the locality. The inflow of people began with the construction of the railway line connecting Dahisar West to the city centre in 1867.

The locality is located very close to the Western Express Highway and has undergone a complete transformation with the construction of many flyovers in the past decade. With the region witnessing significant infrastructural development, and given the excellent connectivity to other parts of Mumbai, a lot of realtors have been heavily investing in this quiet locality.

Major Challenges

The key challenges in Dahisar West are blocked drains, garbage clearance, and traffic issues. The flyover connecting Dahisar West with the Western Express Highway has reduced the traffic congestion, but constant bottlenecks are still witnessed.

The locality is also facing a water problem, making the residents buy water from private agencies.

Factors for Growth in the Future

The future looks bright for this locality. The construction of several flyovers and well-constructed wide roads are slated to push the growth to a large extent. Some of the chief growth prospects for Dahisar West are software parks, and shopping and entertainment centres.

With the Metro work at Dahisar East slated to be started soon, once complete, the connectivity to Dahisar West will be further enhanced.
