Interview With Jim Blasingame on Making the Transition from Manager to Executive Sales Coach

Interview With Jim Blasingame on Making the Transition from Manager to Executive Sales Coach

People ask me, “How does your new book, Coaching Salespeople into Sales Champions compare to the other books you’ve written?” Well, here’s some perspective. My last two books took me eight weeks to write. This one? Over two years.

As a matter of fact, the other day, I was talking with Jim Blasingame, creator and award-winning host of the Small Business Advocate Show, which is according to the Small Business Advocate, is the world’s only weekday talk show dedicated to small business Before the interview, we were talking about the books we’ve both written as well as the time, dedication, focus, commitment, energy and effort it takes to ‘birth’ a book.

He was interviewing me about the subject matter in the book and what managers have to do to make the transition from manager to executive sales coach in order to build a world class sales team.

Here’s the interview I did with Jim the other day you can listen to. We cover some interesting points in terms of virtual sales teams, coaching vs. managing, making the transition from manager to coach, how to motivate salespeople, how to handle an underperformer, the language of leadership and much more.

Here’s a direct link to the audio.

A Small Business Social Bookmarking Site Whose Time Has Come

A Small Business Social Bookmarking Site Whose Time Has Come

Okay, so I’m not thrilled with the name of this site — it may be too fluffy for some small business owners — but the concept is sound. BizSugar is a social bookmarking site that is niche focused on the small business market.

Here’s how it works. Subscribers to the free site post entries to their favorite, most useful posts, pages and articles they find around the internet. As the entry is viewed, each person has an opportunity to vote by “giving ’em a little sugar.” Entries with the most votes make it to the “Hot Topics” or “Top This Week” area of the site. In addition to the voting option, you can add a link to the entry at other social bookmarking sites, you can add a comment of your own, or you can email to a friend. Plus if you’re not thrilled with the entry, you have the option to give it a “sour vote.”

The guidelines for making an entry are simple. They accept “anything that would be of interest to owners and managers of small to mid-sized businesses” — specifically business news, strategies, tips and trends. And they’ve made it easy for small business bloggers to have their posts featured on the site by providing a button that can be added to your blog that allows a visitor to “give you some sugar.”

BizSugar’s intent is to save small business owners time by having a great resource of small business tips, tools, trends and tactics all in one place. I’m all for that. There is so much “info overwhelm” going on these days, you could spend entire days doing nothing but reading about stuff to do — and getting nothing done! Take some time and pay them a visit. You might even want to join the site and submit your favorite entries.

Whatever you do, keep an eye on this site. It may be slow starting, but as other small business owners discover its value it will continue to gain steam and be a good resource for now and in the future.

Have you visited the BizSugar site? Tell me what you think by leaving a comment.

Even if the underwear is not visible, you will need to choose them properly. It’s quite rare to find a business that offers only underwear. In most cases, the underwear is sold together with clothing.

Stores like this offer mainstream and tame taste. Not all men like this type of underwear and in order to cater to the needs of adventurous men, a more detailed store is required. Why don’t you open an online underwear store? If you want, you can concentrate with men’s underwear.
Aside from the underwear, you can also offer swimwear for men as well as boxers. The underwear can come in various styles and colors so that you can attract men with alternative lifestyles or fetishes. Men who want to enhance their romantic life can find the solution in your store. The underwear can be sexy, made of silk, sheer, exotic, for gay, bikini, see through, satin, g string, men’s pouch, spandex, novelty, men’s net, transparent, and low rise. Opening an online store is not that hard. Since it involves a little amount of investment, you can definitely start out anytime you like as long as you’re equipped with the right knowledge.
Open an Online Underwear Store – The Actual Work Begins
Before anything else, you will need to conduct a bit of research about the industry that you’re planning to enter. Study how many stores are on the top ranks that sell men’s underwear. Familiarize yourself with your competitor’s strengths and weaknesses. After that, you can now create a business plan that will serve as your guide. You need to meet the needs of customers that your competitors can’t meet. Designing your website is very important and you have to make sure that the site is user friendly. Having an optimized site can also put you at an advantage.
Now, your next consideration is where you will get your quality supply of men’s underwear. There are plenty of suppliers that you can find and by checking their background, you can pick one that can meet your needs. You have to ensure that the men’s underwear is of different styles and designs especially if you want to cater to men with different tastes. Having your own shopping cart will allow you to conduct your online business with ease through credit card payments. You will also need to look into your shipping options since you will be catering to various customers from different countries. Study your business and with a great plan, you can overcome potential obstacles.

How to Start an Inflatable Business

How to Start an Inflatable Business

How to start an inflatable business is a very important question that people who would like to consider such business must ask themselves.

This is so since it is a business where safety and entertainment must coincide. And this is a greater responsibility of yours.Looking at humanity, we can really say that all of us differ in a lot of ways. Considering employment, most of us are looking for jobs that we would most likely enjoy. However, in the long run we find ourselves in the edge of getting bored of just sitting in the office and just following the boss. That is why it is not anymore a surprise if we will see that there are plenty of people who are looking forward on how to start an inflatable business; a business that will inflate their lives in the long run.

Starting at the bottom
When you find yourself longing to be freed from the orders of your boss when you are in the office, you might be dreaming of being a boss too. Actually, that can be done by engaging in entrepreneurship. Just like in inflatable business, you can be the very boss. But as you start in an inflatable business, you must begin at the bottom.
When you have a current job, don’t just barge out and say that you will survive with your inflatable business. Just like all things, it takes time. For the meantime that you are still on the lookout of making your inflatable business flourish, keep your job first.

Investing little by little
Having an inflatable business will require you to have good investments. You can actually start by having two to three inflatable bounce houses that you can use first. In the long run, you will see yourself that you will be earning more profit that will lead you also to buy more inflatable bounce houses for your business.

Consider safety
Since your business is all about inflatables, make sure that you prioritize safety more than anything else. It is one of the investments that you must take care. Of course, when your customers are satisfied, they will not have reasons of being disappointed and they will still patronize you and your business.

Ensure insurance
More than anyone else, it is you who will hold greater responsibility of your customers. To further show this, you must have insurance. It will not just be on the part of your customers but also for your business. Inasmuch as we would like to avoid accidents, it is very inevitable. By having insurance, both of you and your customers will be safe.
Inflatable business must not be taken as simple as just inflating an inflatable. There are responsibilities that must be taken into consideration. And the end goal is to let safety and entertainment coincide with each other.

With the right tips, people can start their house cleaning business much easier and effectively profitable.Importance of Hiring Housekeepers
Nowadays, people and families are very stressed out in working in their daily jobs. After the 12 hours of working, feeding, and putting the kids to bed, the very last thing that they would want to worry is cleaning their home. Their weekends are for running errands as well as spending quality time with their family members and friends. Therefore, homeowners are looking for housekeeping assistance. In the past, housekeeping assistance is seen to be like scullery maids, however, today, housekeeping assistance is such a good business. They have reached a certain level of well deserved respect for their appreciated services. To start a house cleaning business is simple and easy. This can be built with just a small amount of capital cost but it can be a highly profitable work.
Things to Do
The first and foremost thing that you should do before looking for your first client is to create a well thought-of business plan and understandable policy. You must think of your business name. The name must display sophistication and professionalism. Once you have decided your business name, the next thing that you should do is to get your business insured. Insurance is one thing that your business must have. This eases both yours and your future clients’ mind when hiring your service.
Once you have your company’s insurance policy, the next one that you should do is to obtain a copy of police record and background check. It is best if you don’t have any police record. You can have the form that says no record on it. Next is to organize your information packet. This will make your housecleaning business professional. The information packet consists of printouts of your business’ procedures and policy, background check and insurance, list of references, and samples of work order.
When advertising your house cleaning business, it is a best to choose business cards that are professionally printed out. On your printed business cards, you must include the name of your business, address, and telephone number. Do not put something like Cheap or free estimates, or something like that. Your business card can be placed in supermarkets, community centers, and libraries’ bulletin boards. You may want to present your house cleaning business professionally. Aside from bulletin boards, you can also run your ad in the local newspaper. This can save you money on designs and graphics. Keep in mind that business card, is far more attractable than worded ads.
