Making Marketing Plans Happen

A marketing plan is paramount for achieving business growth. The purpose of a marketing plan is to assess the current market position of your business and develop marketing strategies and actions to undertake to meet your business objectives. Putting together a strategic plan that develops your business around your competitive advantage, and ensures that you are in a position to take advantage of your strengths, is a key to continued business prosperity. Of course, once you have the plan, making it work is the next step.

SALES METHODOLOGIES

Personal selling is a promotional method in which one party uses skills and techniques for building personal relationships with another party that results in both parties obtaining value. Personal selling occurs whenever an individual salesperson sells a product, service or solution to a client.

AIDA Method

AIDA is an acronym that stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. This is a method that looks at the steps a client will undertake from when they first becomes aware of the product or service, to when they are making a purchase decision.

Attention – Get the other person’s interest
Interest – Spark their curiosity
Desire – Create the need
Action – Get them to commit to something

Need satisfaction

The need satisfaction technique is a question and answer technique to make the client to recognise the need for your offering. This then leads to the client agreeing that they have a need to be fulfilled, which leads to you showing them how your offer can satisfy their needs. This method is based on a win-win approach for both the sales person and the client.

Depth Theory

Depth Theory is when a creation of trust occurs between the buyer and seller. The seller uses expertise in their product, service or industry to create trust between themselves and the buyer. The client will see the salesperson as an expert in that area and will trust them to solve the issues that they have.

 Step process

The 7 step process is a plan of action that starts at the planning and preparation to make the sale and leads to after sale follow ups. The 7 steps are:
1.   Planning and preparation
2.   Introduction or opening
3.   Questioning
4.   Presentation
5.   Overcoming objections/negotiating
6.   Closing
7.   After-sales follow-up

communication and industrial marketing management

Effective communication and advertising management is important to not only correctly identify a target audience, but also to reach this audience efficiently through different information channels. There are many benefits of successfully managing these marketing communications, including, but not limited to:

Implementing a industrial marketing Strategy

Implementing a Marketing Strategy Execution Plan, known to Fulcrum and our clients as a “Sprint Plan” is the most effective way to prevent this highway-less journey , industrial marketing operation Pimpri Pune. A Marketing Strategy is a set of strategic goal-focused plans for a certain period of time.

industrial marketing Strategy and Planning

Implement your marketing plan

Your marketing plan must do more than just say what you want to happen. It must describe each step required to make sure that it happens.

Schedule
The plan should include a schedule of key tasks. This sets out what will be done, and by when. Refer to the schedule as often as possible to avoid losing sight of your objectives under the daily workload.
Team And Resources
It should also assess what resources you need. For example, you might need to think about what brochures you need, and whether they need to be available for distribution. You might also need to look at how much time it takes to sell to customers and whether you have enough salespeople.
Cost
The cost of everything in the plan needs to be included in a budget. If your finances are limited, your plan will need to take that into account. Don’t spread your marketing activities too thinly – it is better to concentrate your resources to make the most of your budget. You may also want to link your marketing budget to your sales forecast.
Control
As well as setting out the schedule, the plan needs to say how it will be controlled. You need an individual who takes responsibility for pushing things along. A good schedule and budget should make it easy to monitor progress. When things fall behind schedule, or costs overrun, you need to be ready to do something about it and to adapt your plan accordingly.

Door to Door Marketing Strategy

Nowadays it’s very common to think of door to door sales as a dead technique. New generations don’t even know it actually exists. But what people don’t realize is that knocking on doors is actually the best training you can have in sales. It’s a tough activity, but it’ll teach you the best lessons to be successful in sales. Also, right now the majority of the marketing is done by e-mail, radio, and television; that’s why real human contact is sometimes more effective!

Since people do not welcome strangers into their space with the most open mind (can you blame them?),  it can be difficult to boost sales without qualified strategies.

So, if your knuckles are hurting, you might find this advice really useful!

Perfect your Pitch

When starting your pitch, you need to make it clear what it is that you’re selling. Humans are emotion-based decision makers, so pitching your product with emotions is necessary. So let’s see in depth how this can be structured:

  • Introduction: Introduce yourself! Usually a person builds an impression of you in 10 seconds. This is why being polite, smiling, and looking for eye contact is important.
  • Questions: Now that you’re standing in front of the prospect, he/she might want to know why you’re there. So explain briefly what you’re trying to sell, but remember, do not overwhelm with the core of the pitch. After this, it’s the moment to ask questions, know more about your customer, and get qualified answers.
  • Present: Finally, you know what are your prospect needs, so it’s time to actually present your product. Try to engage the prospect, telling real experience from other customers, and qualifying your words on the base of the needs you just discovered. Remember to use the KISS method! (Keep It Short and Sweet)
  • Close: If you said all the right things, it’s the closing moment. At this  moment, you need to let the prospect speak and to listen to his/her questions. You must overcome objections, and remember, by coming up with objections your customer is just asking for more reasons to buy.

Door to Door Marketing Plan

Key Pillars of the Door to Door Marketing Process

ProspectingThe search for new customers is called prospecting. Prospects are essential to your sales funnel because you have to have new customers coming in to grow. Finding them is a crucial part of your sales process.

Qualifying: Qualifying means you have identified a need your prospect has that matches one of the features or benefits you offer. Qualifying prospects is to establish Pain (enough pain to buy), Budget (money to buy) and Decision (authority to buy). It requires a door-to-door salesman (or woman) to ask lot of open-ended questions and listen and respond to their answers.

PitchingWhen you make an offer and describe the benefits to your qualified prospect, it is called pitching. Knowing the lead’s needs is essential to your success. You provide a solution to their pain points and explain how your product makes their lives or jobs easier.

ClosingClosing is when you ask the potential customer to buy your product or service. There are numerous ways to ask for business, and finding the one that works best for you and each qualified prospect is a vital skill for successful door-to-door sales.

Follow-upAfter the sale, the door-to-door salesperson should establish contact to ensure the customer received what they ordered, felt satisfied, and received answers to any questions they might have. This is called follow-up. It is essential to establishing a relationship with your new customer, and the gateway to future opportunities with the customer, should their needs change.

Factors for growth in the past

Establishment of roads such as Old Mumbai Pune Highway and Nigadi-Bhosari Road was one of the major factors that improved Pimpri’s connectivity, linking it comfortably to the rest of Pune. Presence of an active transport system also contributed in enhancing the locality’s connectivity, making it more accessible from various other places.

Availability of land was another factor that paved the way for significant growth in the area. This aspect caught the interest of many well-known builders such as Goel Ganga Group, Arun Developers, Geeta Builders Pune and Sukhwani Constructions, persuading them to establish several projects. As a result, several residential and industrial units mushroomed in this planned locality.

Pimpri’s proximity to saturated cities such as Mumbai and Navi Mumbai worked well in its favour. Affordable property prices offered by this locality appealed to working professionals, who moved to this region in large numbers, enhancing the area’s real estate demand to a great extent.

Residential and Commercial Market

Residential market trends

Pimpri is an amalgam of properties such as apartments, independent houses, and residential plots. The dominant property type here is apartments, which sell at an average rate of about Rs 5,200 per sq. ft. The average rate of independent houses in Pimpri is Rs 4,650 per sq. ft, whereas residential plots in Pimpri are priced lesser, and sell at an average rate of Rs 3,500 per sq. ft.

The price of 1-3BHK houses range between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 85 lakh, while the price range of 2 BHK houses lie between Rs 38 lakh and Rs 66 lakh. Residential plots fall within a price range of Rs 60 lakh and Rs 4 crore.

The rent culture in Pimpri is quite upbeat. The average rent of apartments in this area is Rs 13 per sq. ft, whereas the average rent of independent houses is Rs 12 per sq. ft. The rental price of 1-3BHK apartment units range from Rs 8,500 per month to Rs 19,500 per month. The rent of 2BHK independent houses lie between Rs 10,000 per month and Rs 12,500 per month.

Commercial market trends

The commercial market in Pimpri is on par with its residential market. The average rate of offices is Rs 10,150 per sq. ft., while the average rate of shops is Rs 11,200 per sq. ft. The average rate of commercial plots here is Rs 3,200 per sq. ft.

The price range for offices in this area lie between Rs 65 lakh and Rs 1 crore, whereas the price for shops range from Rs 39 lakh to Rs 1 crore. The price for commercial plots range between Rs 8 crore and Rs 25 crore.

The locality’s commercial rental properties are on the rise. The average rent for offices in the region is Rs 47 per sq. ft, while the average rent for shops is Rs 51 per sq. ft. The rental for offices range from Rs 25,000 per month to Rs 91,500 per month. The rent prices for shops lie between Rs 15,000 per month and Rs 39,500 per month.

Major challenges

Bad roads, poor garbage disposal issues, ill-maintained public toilets and water scarcity are a few of the civic issues hovering over Pimpri for the last few years. Although the civic authorities are making an attempt to tackle these challenges, these issues persist.

Factors for growth in the future

The completion of residential projects such as Antheia, Sukhwani Niketan, Wisdom Park and Vaibhav Arcade shows that the residential market of Pimpri is in good health. More builders are now showing interest and it’s likely that a large number of mid-segment and premium apartment projects will come up in the locality.

The Pune International Exhibition and Convention Center (PIECC) is a major project that’s soon going to come up in the region around Pimpri. The Pimpri-Chichwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA) is responsible for completing this project, which will host office spaces as well as reputed hotels, and prove to be a prominent trade center for the city. Once launched, it would enhance growth in the Pimpri Chinchwad area, thereby transforming it into a self-sufficient locality.

Making Marketing Plans Happen

A marketing plan is paramount for achieving business growth. The purpose of a marketing plan is to assess the current market position of your business and develop marketing strategies and actions to undertake to meet your business objectives.

Need satisfaction

The need satisfaction technique is a question and answer technique to make the client to recognise the need for your offering. This then leads to the client agreeing that they have a need to be fulfilled, which leads to you showing them how your offer can satisfy their needs. The client will see the salesperson as an expert in that area and will trust them to solve the issues that they have.

brand management agency

Fulcrum is a brand management agency in mumbai. We add industry, expert planning and common sense to creativity. We deliver tangible, not tangential, brand management services that shape reputations and build brands. As craftspeople rather than brand management people, we adapt our ways of working to individual projects, not the other way round. We apply the right amount of methodology to the creative process. The discipline of deadlines and budgets keep our feet on the ground, but we also know when to abandon the rules, and follow our instinct. While our strategist, planners and creatives are busy creating the next mega-brand or marketing campaign, our project managers stay in touch with our clients, and reality.
Before we work to understand a client’s brief, we work to understand the client. We get under the skin of the organisation. We get a feel for their purpose and personality. With skill and experience, we ask the right questions, to ensure our brand management services stay on track. It involves exploratory discussions to establish the project’s framework and intelligent questioning to clarify the objectives. Then, armed with this insight, we address the issues at hand. Our first reaction to a brief is often to pull it apart. Deconstructing it to isolate the component parts, and refine the proposition. Throughout the process we think technically, as well as strategically and creatively. And as creative barriers are broken, budgetary and timing controls are strictly adhered to.

A brand management process for success

A brand management process for success

Productive and efficient are two words to describe Fulcrum, but we’re far from a production line. Each item we produce is an original, made to meet the precise needs of a particular client and their brief. We relish a blank canvas, but we’re equally concerned with quality control and productivity. And if brand management sounds like something to cramp your style, or constrain your creativity, we urge you to think again. Fulcrum’s brand management services provide a bigger, better backdrop for the truly big idea. The result is more impact, closer engagement and more memorability. Not the equivalent of a creative straightjacket.
We believe any idea is possible. Whatever pops up in the mind can pop onto the screen, or sheet of paper. We could espouse the virtues of brand personality and core values. But we’re not big on hackneyed industry talk. We’d rather tell you how effective brand management can place your brand and marketing communications in another dimension. We’ll show you how to achieve consistently high standards, without stifling creativity. And we’ll put in place standards and guidelines that connect with everyone in your organisation. To us, brand management is more than a casual gesture, it’s a warm embrace.

Available at any time, from anywhere

Available at any time, from anywhere

At Fulcrum, we think in the round. We must, these days. We always put the fundamentals in place. For example, when we create an ad campaign, we consider how it will look on screen and on paper. And how about weeny broadsheet ads? And super-size billboards? When we create a new brand identity, we provide Crystal Mark instructions. We cover all touch points, from tone of voice to typography. And from image rights to the opacity of a given Photoshop filter. We prepare brand assets in scalable formats, available 24/7, to anyone, everywhere. While this level of detail sounds pedantic, it sets Fulcrum’s brand management services apart. It keeps our pencil sharp, and our clients in the headlines, for the right reasons.
If you’re passionate about brand management, we want to talk to you. We can help you develop a vision of where you want to go. We can inspire your people to get there. We’ll explain how we get the right balance between thinking, managing and creating. We’ll describe how we build internal support for change. How we make sure people live your brand, so its promise is delivered in practice. We’ll show you how we use media – old, new and not invented yet. We’ll demonstrate our enthusiasm and total commitment. And we’ll expect you to do the same.

Is brand management on your agenda?

Is brand management on your agenda?
If you accept that Fulcrum looks good on paper (and on screen) please arrange to meet us in person. We can come to you armed with insights, ideas, and case studies. Or you can come to us. We’ll share our experiences and discuss ways we can work together to improve your communication and marketing activities through more efficient brand management.

Marketing Plan and Marketing Strategy

industrial marketing operation Thane

Panch Pakhadi, Thane

Thane is a city in Maharashtra. It’s the administrative headquarters of a district called Thane, and resides in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The Thane creek, at the head of which the city lies, also characterizes its location. The creek starts at the Ulhas River and culminates in the Arabian Sea. The city has a part of its area on the mainland across the Thane creek, while the rest of it is located on the Salsette Island.

Thane is regarded as Mumbai’s elder sister, as a part of the Thane district, from Mulund to Sion, is given to Mumbai for the latter’s future development. It’s also popularly known as the Lake City, because it features as many as 35 lakes within its precincts. The Masunda Talao, also called Talao Pali, is among the most beautiful lakes in the city. Besides being a tourist attraction, the lakes are a source of water for both Thane and Mumbai.

Historically, Thane is a very important city. On 16 April 1854, it was the destination station for India’s first ever train, which had started its brief journey at Boribunder, today called Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, located in Mumbai. This ushered in the Railway Age in Asia.

Stats And Facts

The population of Thane, as per the provisional reports of Census India 2011, is 18,18,872. The urban/metropolitan population, on the other hand, is 1,84,14,294
The sex ratio in the city, according to the same reports, is 882 per 1000 males. The child sex ratio, on the other hand, is 900 per 1000 boys. Both these figures are below the national average
The average literacy rate in Thane is quite impressive, at 91.36%
Originally, Thane was called Sristhanaka, which translates as the place where Lord Ganpati resides
Until the year 1739, when Marathas captured it, Thane was an important trading center
The Thane creek, a river stream flowing from Ulhas River to the Arabian Sea, splits the city into two parts, which are connected by a rail bridge and two road bridges
Thane is home to the Upvan Arts Festival, held at the picturesque 15-acre Upvan Lake area. Over 200 artists from across different fields get a platform to showcase their work and talent

Manufacturing Sector

Thane has a large industrial base, with a significant part of the city acting as a home to both big and small industries
The industrial areas in the city mostly host engineering, electrical, chemical, and textile industries
Some of the prominent industrial areas are Wagle estate; Thane-Belapur road, or Trans Thane Creek; and Ghodbunder road
The manufacturing sector still contributes about 40% of the total income earned by the Thane Municipal Corporation
The major companies that have manufacturing units in Thane are Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Glaxo, Cadbury’s, Nicholas Parimal, Clariant, and Vidyut Metallica

Connectivity

The nearest airport to Thane is in Mumbai, called the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The distance is about 36 km, which is a drive that will anywhere from 45 to 75 min, depending on the traffic
Thane is well connected with other major cities in India, as it’s a train station for many of the trains leaving Mumbai for other cities in different states. It’s also a major railway station of Mumbai Suburban Railway, and is well connected with the neighboring suburbs through the Central and Trans-Harbor Line Suburban railway network
Thane is well connected to the entire suburban network by road. For example, it connects to Borivali through the 6-laned Ghodbunder road. Thane connects to the southern cities via NH 4, which runs from Mumbai to Chennai, connecting Pune and Bangalore on the way
Bus service is available within the city, thanks to the several local, public players in operation, including Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), Thane Municipal Transport (TMT), and Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT)

Thane Infrastructure

The infrastructure in Thane has been up to the mark, generally, but there is a lot of scope for development, considering that the population in the region is continuously increasing.
Road, rail, and air transport infrastructure is, of course, excellent. The expressways and the railway networks link the city to other major cities across India. As the vehicular population is rising at a rapid pace, city is planning development projects in terms of flyovers, bridges, and road widening.

When it comes to power, the city has just enough power capacity to meet the needs of its residents. The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) is, therefore, taking measures to achieve self-sufficiency in power. For example, TMC has made it mandatory for all buildings to install a solar water heating system.
All in all, there is a need for a sea of change in infrastructure development in Thane, and that aspect is being reflected in the measures taken by the TMC and the state government.

Business-to-Business Marketing Strategies

What do business professionals think about marketing in the business-to-business (B2B) environment? We examined survey results and reports* that compiled data on the topic, and created a list of eight B2B marketing strategies commonly recognised as successful regardless of industry.

Making Marketing Plans Happen

A marketing plan is paramount for achieving business growth. The purpose of a marketing plan is to assess the current market position of your business and develop marketing strategies and actions to undertake to meet your business objectives.

Implementing a Marketing Strategy Execution Plan, known to Fulcrum and our clients as a “Sprint Plan” is the most effective way to prevent this highway-less journey , industrial marketing operation .

Also, right now the majority of the marketing is done by e-mail, radio, and television; that’s why real human contact is sometimes more effective!

brand management agency

Malad East, mumbai

Located at a distance of 34 km from Mumbai towards the north, Malad East is a peaceful suburb that has quickly developed in recent times into a coveted destination. Geographically speaking, Malad East belongs to the Konkan region as can be seen from the native-tongue spoken by many residents there. Malad East has no fancy beginnings, nor did it undergo any cataclysmic phases of growth. Its evolution has been rather smooth.

As a matter of fact, Malad as an area, consisted of the hamlet of Orlem and other villages such as Kharodi and Rathodi, back in the 19th century. In those days, it consisted of just 12 families. But today, the packed streets of Malad show no resemblance to that era. Malad East is a vast suburb by itself, and made of many sub-areas and streets. Dindoshi Pada, Suchidham, Mira Nagar, and Sankalp Colony are a few sub-areas of Malad East that lie to the south of this locality.

Malad East is a well-developed locality that has all the common facilities required by a modern, urban population. Residents of Malad East have shopping malls to fulfil their shopping needs, supermarkets for their grocery requirements, and hospitals to keep themselves healthy.

Comprising ample infrastructure, Malad East is located close to the sprawling Sanjay Gandhi National Park and the ancient Kanheri caves, which are over 2400 years old. Lovers of the ocean will be glad to know that the beaches of Aksa, Marve, and Erangal are very accessible.

Mahindra Nagar, one of the sub-areas in Malad East, was nominated as the second-most pollution-free locality in Mumbai by Eureka Forbes.

Connectivity and transit points

The Western Express Highway (WEH), among the widest and busiest stretches of road in Maharashtra, runs right through Malad East. An 8-10 laner, this expressway connects Mumbai to all of its surrounding suburbs. Beyond the city limits, this road is known as the National Highway NH-8, which goes all the way up till the national capital of Delhi. It passes through nearly all of the suburbs in Mumbai.

Similar to the connectivity by road, connectivity by rail in Malad East is hassle-free and convenient. Malad Railway Station is located exactly between Malad East and Malad West. It is accessible through Swami Vivekananda Road for residents of Malad West and through Poddar Road for Malad East’s residents.

Bus transport proves to be easy as well, with well-placed bus stops lined up throughout Malad East. Of the numerous bus stops in this suburb, the Malad East bus stop located along Poddar Road serves as a major transit point. Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) operated buses frequently move through Malad East, connecting it with other surrounding suburbs and to the Mumbai city.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport lies merely 10 km away, and can be accessed through the Western Mumbai Highway. For anyone looking at other means of commute, taxicab services operate actively in Malad East. The ubiquitous Indian auto-rickshaw is also another preferred mode of short-distance transport, with rickshaw stands placed at almost every other corner.

Major Landmarks

Raheja Complex

Mahindra Academy

Tapovan Temple

Fatima Devi English School

Factors for growth in the past

Malad was earlier a sparsely populated area comprising a few villages and settlements. Pastor Fr. Joseph Maria Braz de Souza helped build the first school (St. Anne’s High School) in Orlem, which is now a neighbourhood of Malad West. India’s first film company, Bombay Talkies was also founded here, in 1934 by Devika Rani and Himanshu Rai.

By the 1970s, a number of families who were natives of the land had sold their properties to real estate developers, thus sowing the seeds for the next phase of development, which would completely urbanise Malad East.

The Western Express Highway has also played a part in the revitalisation of Malad East. Due to this road’s excellent connectivity, property in this suburb became treasured. Eventually, a number of renowned housing projects were established, pushing up the property value of the area. This led to a spurt in the number of residents moving in and settling down in the suburb.

Major challenges

In Malad East, traffic congestion during peak hours can be a concern, making daily long distance commute annoying.
According to the Environment Status Report of Greater Mumbai 2012-13, water pollution in Malad East has increased by 14 percent in the recent times, especially during the monsoons. This is certainly a cause of concern. But that this fact has come to light may invite movement on resolving the matter.
Poor construction and maintenance of roads has also been a cause of worry, with gaping potholes causing unavoidable inconvenience for the commuters.

Factors for growth in the future

Mumbai Metro, touted to be a level up in public transportation, is already active along the Line 1. Line 2 will be completed soon, if everything goes according to plan, and will be passing through Malad. This latent development in the future will increase the area’s connectivity tremendously.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has also proposed a plan to develop and improve the existing Malad-Marve-Manori INS Hamla Road.

Review the business realities – Gain an understanding and commitment to potential resources available to make it all happen. Review the market realities – What limitations might we be dealing with and how far can we push the market potential?

2. Set the hypothesis.

Hypothesis development – Develop the potential strategic alternatives and understand what would need to happen for them to become reality. Reality test – Review the strategies for practical application, decide which are practical now and which could be left for a future date and understand what resources are necessary to make these alternatives. Solidify strategy – Make some strategic decisions to understand which alternatives provide the growth desired, build an understanding of the risks involved, ensure all strategies can work together and consider the reality of them working within the business.

3. Set the course.

Key strategies – Articulate the strategies and provide means for measurement and communication. Plan action – Develop broad and specific actions stemming from the strategies.

4. Build a foundation.

This stage involves developing a compelling ‘marketing tool box’ that clearly defines your value to the target audience and creates appropriate messages and triggers to sale.

5. Implement and educate.

The stage after the plan development involves completing agreed actions and driving deep engagement and understanding throughout the company, whilst developing the ongoing implementation activities, including allocation of resources.

Choosing the Right Marketing Agency: Marketing Execution Vs Marketing Strategy

If you pretty much know what marketing you need to do and how it is going to be accomplished then most likely you need some type of marketing agencyto do it for you. Depending on what the activities are, you will choose a different type of agency. For example, if you are more likely to be doing TV, radio or magazine advertising you will likely need a traditional advertising agency. If it sits more in the digital realm, with a lot of Google AdWords or YouTube commercials, then a digital advertising agency is probably for you. Alternatively, you may simply need a graphic designer to bring your ideas to life.

Developing an Annual Marketing Plan and Marketing Strategy

Make your business New Year resolution to start the year with an integrated marketing plan that clearly outlines your business objectives and the marketing strategies and tactics you plan to use to achieve them

An annual marketing plan helps keep businesses on track with goals and objectives for the year and ensures that marketing opportunities and budgets are maximized. Developing a marketing plan that you revisit every year is the key to success year after year.

A solid annual marketing plan should be structured with a disciplined approach to reaching your business goals and objectives, yet flexible enough to adapt to changing market conditions and business opportunities throughout the year.

Start Annual Marketing Planning by Reviewing Previous Year Marketing Performance

Before you begin the annual planning process for the coming year’s marketing efforts, you’ll want to take a close look at how you performed over the current year. Even if you did not have a structured marketing plan in place previously, you should be able to review past marketing activities and results.

Here are some questions to ask when evaluating the performance of a previous annual marketing plan or year’s activities:

  • Did you achieve desired results from your marketing efforts (such as improved brand recognition, X number of leads generated or sales/revenue figures)?
  • Which specific marketing activities were effective?
  • Which specific marketing activities were not effective?
  • Should you reallocate resources to better performing targets, markets or marketing tactics?
  • Has your target market, audience or geographic area changed over the year?
  • Were you able to stay within a marketing budget at the end of the year?
  • What areas of your marketing budget do you need to cut costs in for the coming year?
  • What areas of your marketing budget do you want to invest more in for the coming year?

The answers to questions about your previous year’s marketing plan will play a big part in building an annual marketing plan for the coming year. Each year adjustments should be made to your marketing planning efforts that incorporate learning from the past – what works or what doesn’t work.

Develop Essential Components of an Annual Marketing Plan

A marketing plan is a written document that contains a business’ marketing strategies and tactics. The first step in developing an annual marketing plan is getting organized. Make a list of all the marketing components or categories that are important for your business.

Typical components in a marketing plan include:

  • Advertising (print and/or online)
  • Branding and Graphics (promotional giveaway items, photography, video production, graphic development)
  • Collateral (sell sheets, brochures, business cards)
  • Events (trade shows, webinars)
  • Direct Marketing (email, direct mail, list generation, promotional incentives/contests)
  • Public Relations (press release distribution, PR agency)
  • Research (focus groups, surveys, marketing reference books)
  • Social Media (social media networks)
  • Website (search engine optimization, web development/hosting)

Of course the actual components for your business may vary depending on your business, industry and marketing budget. The important thing is to identify all the potential components in your annual marketing plan so you can decide how you plan to address those components for your business. Even if you do not plan to allocate budget for a category – like social media – it should be included if you have any marketing efforts planned for the category so strategies and tactics can be outlined in an integrated planning approach.

Define Marketing Plan Strategies, Tactics and Budget

Once marketing components are outlined for the business, all potential strategies and tactics should be defined per category or component.

Here is an example of defining strategies and tactics for the “advertising” category:

Marketing Category: Advertising
Strategy #1 – Drive traffic to website via online advertising
Tactic # 1 – Google Adwords
Tactic #2 – Banner ads on industry association website
Tactic #3 – Internet yellow pages ads

Each tactic will also need to have an allocated budget, if applicable. The marketing plan should include fields to capture your allocated budget, actual spend and budget variance so that you can track throughout the year and make any adjustments needed. For example, if you are tracking under budget in one category you can shift funds to another category where you may be tracking over budget.

Flexibility to adapt an annual marketing plan throughout the year is important to adapt to a changing business environment and be “opportunistic” in marketing efforts. Be sure to take advantage of tracking mechanisms for marketing efforts whenever possible – such as unique 800 numbers or website analytic reports – so that you can make adjustments to maximize performance of campaigns (or dump marketing efforts that are not producing desired results). Goals should also be set for all areas of a marketing plan so that you can measure the performance of marketing tactics against business objectives.

SALES METHODOLOGIES

Personal selling is a promotional method in which one party uses skills and techniques for building personal relationships with another party that results in both parties obtaining value. Personal selling occurs whenever an individual salesperson sells a product, service or solution to a client.

Sales methods

There are many different sales methods that can be used to complete a sale and form the required relationships. Determining which sales method is more effective depends on what you are selling, who you are selling to and when you are selling it.

  • A higher Return on Investment  (ROI)
  • Reaching more of your target audience
  • Reduced costs for industrial marketing
  • Types of market segmentation:
    • Demographic segmentation: gender, age, income, education, occupation
    • Geographic segmentation: city, state, country
    • Psychographic segmentation: attitudes, values, attitudes, lifestyle
    • Behavioural segmentation: purchasing patterns, loyalty status

Implementing a industrial marketing Strategy

Implementing a Marketing Strategy Execution Plan, known to Fulcrum and our clients as a “Sprint Plan” is the most effective way to prevent this highway-less journey , industrial marketing operation Pune Cantonment Pune.

Companies effectively implementing this program often achieve more than 25% ongoing growth per annum.

Your Challenges

Business owners, senior executives and managers are frequently facing growth related issues such as: – Turning around a declining sales trend – Identifying and entering new markets – Launching new business and product lines – Identifying emerging growth opportunities – Managing the risks of growth If you have any of the above issues, then the Fulcrum Marketing Strategy Development Process is for you.

Approach

The process considers what could be rather than only what is. Whereas, a regular marketing strategy process might simply consider what a customer tells you and respond, Fulcrum considers how a customer might react when given a slightly or radically different proposition to the one currently in the market.

Benefits

Each strategy generates actionable tasks to achieve medium and long-term revenue and growth targets. Brief but highly strategic plans are created that drill down into action items. You are then lead through specific actions to implement, or the Fulcrum team implement them for you.

Development Process

Experience the Fulcrum Marketing Strategy Development Process. It is a tailored program designed to provide companies with the highly-focussed strategy development and implementation resources necessary to address specific growth challenges and opportunities.

1. Seek and learn.

Information Gathering – The first step is to gain an understanding of the market in which you are participating; target audiences, competitor offerings, current pricing and more.

MARKETING STRATEGY

Effective marketing organisations must be driven through sound business strategy. Fulcrum produce marketing strategy that is always well embodied by your business strategy.

The best marketing strategy does not start with creative, it starts with a marketing process.

The Fulcrum Marketing Strategy Development Process is a thorough problem solving and marketing strategy development program that focusses on solving your growth challenges and maximising the return from your company’s marketing operations.  It is particularly useful for innovating within a market or creating a position of market leadership.

Indentifying key sources of growth, challenging the current business operations and identifying key growth creating activities are crucial for businesses which want to grow.

The process looks at your whole business with the aim to maximise the potential by focussing on:

  • reviewing your marketing conditions
  • reviewing your current marketing challenges and capabilities
  • identifying and maximising competitive advantage
  • creating and amplifying market positioning
  • developing new revenue sources
  • maximising market communication techniques
  • Set your sales team

Action Orientated

Fulcrum works alongside senior management to develop achievable and actionable strategies and build the company plans around them. Real results are achieved when your management team have consistent and ongoing interaction with the Fulcrum team. At the end of the process, you must own the strategy and be able work the plan yourself. You are left with a growth system which is repeatable over time to achieve consistent growth.

Implementing a industrial marketing Strategy

Implementing a Marketing Strategy Execution Plan, known to Fulcrum and our clients as a “Sprint Plan” is the most effective way to prevent this highway-less journey , industrial marketing operation .

At Fulcrum it is usually over the plan of 4 months. In order to develop a Marketing Strategy Execution Plan, you must start with the end in mind. There are specific objectives developed in order to meet the client’s goals. This entails an in-depth on-boarding process in order to set objectives and goals.

Traditional marketing or offline marketing must not be ignored though. Everything from producing a decent brochure that represents your organisation or product appropriately, through to developing specific sales strategies becomes part of the entire marketing bundle. If your main marketing bottleneck is in the sales funnel then you need significant sales expertise combined with marketing knowledge to overcome this. This is most likely going to be more the realm of a marketing consultant with experience in sales techniques.
