Small Business Brand Marketing:home2home marketing | Local Marketing Team Byculla

5 Tips For Taking Your Brand to Market

Part 1 of our Brand Basics for Small Business series, we covered the crucial first steps to setting up your brand. Once you’ve taken those initial steps and got your brand off the ground, the next stage is to start marketing, in order to raise awareness of your brand, build a customer base, and drive sales for your business. To help you get started, we’ve got five important tips for taking your brand to market.

Tip 1: Get your messaging right

In business, first impressions mean a great deal – so what your initial marketing communicates about your brand will shape the (usually lasting) opinion potential customers form about your brand.

Spend time developing clear, compelling brand messaging that succinctly communicates your brand, ties in with your brand identity, and is relevant to your target audience. Bear in mind that as your brand develops and grows, you’ll need to be able to continue delivering this messaging consistently across all platforms, so getting it right in the early stages is essential.

Tip 2: Choose the right channels

Small businesses are faced with a vast array of potential marketing tactics through which to promote their brand. From digital marketing to direct mail, the key is to identify those channels that are most appropriate to your brand – and are most likely to attract the attention of potential customers. This is where thorough market research (discussed in Part 1) is vital, as you’ll need a clear understanding of your target audience and what channels have the best chance of reaching them.

Potential marketing channels include email marketing, brochures and flyers, social media, event marketing and many more. For some ideas on using a selection of these channels successfully, check out our Guide to Becoming Marketing Active.

Tip 3: Provide clear calls to action – and incentives for following them

Whether your call to action is driving traffic to your website, encouraging email newsletter opt-ins, or increasing your social media following, you need to make this call to action as clear and straightforward as possible. Confusion or ambiguity is an immediate turn-off, so make sure you spell out exactly what people need to do and how to do it.

Behind every call to action, you need to answer the question that is inevitably on the minds of your audience: “what’s in it for me?”. By providing compelling incentives for performing the desired action, your audience is much more likely to follow your lead.

Tip 4: Go for the highest quality you can afford

While budget will always play an important role in small business marketing considerations, opting for cheap-looking, inferior quality marketing materials can do considerable damage to your brand in both the short-term and the long-term. At this early stage it’s important to remember that, as mentioned above, first impressions are critical.

Quality doesn’t just extend to the physical materials on which your marketing is delivered. Skimping on components like copywriting or design can be just as off-putting as cheap paper, so avoid cutting costs by doing it yourself. If price is an issue, consider taking a ‘less is more’ approach and focusing on doing a few key tactics well.

Tip 5: Know your goals from the outset

Before you commence any type of marketing, you need to know what you want to achieve from this activity. Once you’ve established a set of clearly defined goals, you will be able to identify the steps you need to take to achieve these targets.

When setting marketing goals, it’s important to choose targets that are achievable, as well as ensuring you are as clear as possible about your goals. Be specific about what each goal involves and outline timeframes for achievement to work towards. In addition, it’s vital to make sure your marketing goals are easy to track and measure.

While there are many other areas you’ll need to consider before embarking on a marketing strategy, taking time to focus on these five areas will provide you with a strong starting point on which to build.

Stay tuned for the final part of our Brand Basics series, in which we’ll be looking at how to maintain your brand in the long term.

We’d love to hear your experiences of taking a brand to market – if you’ve got your own tips, why not share them with the MIH community? Get in touch by leaving your comments below…

About Us

Fulcrum use fun interactive experiences to increase engagement by at least 300% against other comms methods.

People’s behaviour and how they interact with organisations, and the channels they prefer to use, has changed. This is true for consumers and employees alike. Many brands, however, continue to push messages out in the hope they get noticed at the right time and in the right place.

To deliver the kind of experiences that individuals want, deserve and engage with, a marked-change is required; a change that sees organisations delivering communications that not only capture an audience’s attention, but which audiences actively want to participate in and engage with and consumers actively want to engage with brands of their choice.

Fulcrum’s marketing platform allows brands’ teams to create , interactive campaigns that drive positive consumer behaviour by rewarding consumers for their actions. These engaging experiences give consumers something new and exciting to do and re-engage lapsed customers, keep a brand front of mind in between visits, increase acquisition and ultimately, drive greater footfall and revenue, even on those quieter days.

Benefits of Consumer Promotion

A successful promotional campaign has the capability to nurture relationships with consumers through maintenance and engagement. The following is a list of just a few of the myriad benefits that consumer promotion can provide to a brand.

When the aforementioned benefits of consumer promotion are considered as a whole, it is clear that they are indeed extremely helpful in driving revenue, creating brand engagement and enabling companies to acquire new consumers. Consumer promotion is undoubtedly an efficient and effective vehicle for marketing communications. For consumers, sales promotion provides a direct and often rational motivation to purchase the product being promoted.

Opportunity

A promotion allows brands the opportunity to communicate on packaging and enables them to focus campaigns around an event. Communication is a skill that creates formidable relationships with consumers that make your brand unique.

Differentiation

A brand needs to be different to survive, and a consumer promotion can be a fantastic way to make a brand stand out from the crowd. It holds the potential to add unique value to a customer through a competition or unique experience, creating a reason to choose your product in a crowded market.

Focus

A consumer promotion often becomes an event for the company, which then allows it to focus all its channels of marketing. A focused approach can force a firm to change the way they market themselves and create brand engagement through those changes.

Reputation

A brand is not the only one who can communicate a consumer promotion. Word of mouth is one of the most positive forms of communication, especially if it is coming from a friend or colleague, as they are usually a trusted and reliable source. Give your consumers a reason to be surprised and they will make sure your reputation thrives.

Revenue

Simply put, more sales from your promotion will create higher revenue. However, brands need to always calculate their costs and ensure they are aware of how many people may redeem the promotion and ensure that it is a profitable endeavor.

Information

When customers attempt to redeem promotions, brands can often retrieve data such as email addresses and their home address. This creates the opportunity to target a customer through segmentation; you can then use direct mail or email campaigns to create personalized marketing.

Incentive

All the points above drive sales and make consumers’ decision-making much simpler. If a brand is offering a similar product but something additional, then the consumer will often want more for their money.

marketing service in Govandi

ABOUT FIELD MARKETING

WHAT IS FIELD MARKETING? Field marketing and marketing service in Govandi is becoming more popular for companies in various industries. From food and beverage to consumer goods. It’s a tool that can be used to showcase latest products or services in a face to face environment with consumers. Furthermore companies recognise the importance of having brand ambassadors and reps on the ‘front line’ introducing the public to new innovations or delicious treats. This is done in the ‘field’; around shopping centers and in retail hot spots, expos and events, university campus’ and sport stadiums to name a few. Most campaign activities focus on customer facing roles including product demonstrations, direct selling and street training teams. However not all field marketing is consumer facing such as auditing and merchandising. Goals and outcomes of field marketing will differ from company to company. Some campaigns are designed to increase brand awareness or sales. While others may be to collect data and feedback about the product and its market. At Splatter we have all the tools necessary for the clients desired outcome to be achieved WHAT A FIELD MARKETING TEAM LOOKS LIKE. For successful field marketing campaigns companies might have dedicated teams within their business whose task it is to be creative and manage field marketing initiatives. However agencies are also on hand to support a campaign. By offering staff, management and infrastructure the client can focus on the more creative aspect of the campaign. A field marketing agency and  marketing service in Govandi tends to work in territories operating with reps within their own regions. Often overlooked by regional or national managers depending on the scale of the team. Although territory management is more important for wide scale national distributing business, smaller brands are recognising the importance of managing promotions on a more local scale using teams to promote, audit and sell in their regions.

WHAT CAN FIELD MARKETING DO FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

1. PRODUCT DEMONSTRATIONS

As mentioned already, demo days are a popular tool of field marketing. These campaigns can stretch from as little as one week to 6 months however some are continuous and full time. For consumer goods this would mean having brand representatives in retail stores and around shopping centers, events or road shows. Finally The Brand Ambassadors are engaging with the consumer and showing them how the product or service works. This is important as it allows a potential buyer to get hands on experience and a feel of ownership of the product; most importantly the rep is also on hand to answers any questions the customer may have. Although a sell is great the main aim of a demo campaign is brand awareness. Food and beverage take a slightly differently approach. Product Demonstrations Learn more about what direct selling is in our guide here.

3. RETAIL AUDITS AND MERCHANDISING

Auditing takes the reps out off the front line and away from the consumer. Auditing teams are used by marketers to monitor traditional marketing strategies that they put in place across retail. Most of all audits ensure that the brand is represented as it should be on shelves and around retail hot spots. Examples are; checking POS is as it should be across the territories, promotions advertised and running and paid spaces such as gondolas are set up. The data collected from the teams can be useful for the marketers to negotiate better future deals. In addition it also allows for mistakes to be rectified there and then by the reps. However if this is the case it is important for the brand to follow up with demos in stores. If there is a brand rep placed in store the following few days after the advertising campaign the customer is more likely to come over and ask some questions about the product. Another reason you might need field marketing is to ensure your budget has been well spent. Data can be collected by auditing teams and analysed to see if the money had been well spent. Furthermore it also gives opportunity for future campaigns to implemented with higher efficiency and success.

It gives you the chance to build a certain level of confidence and trust with the customers, you get to break down communication barrier of communication and it gives you the opportunity to show clarity and answer any questions on the mind of the customers.

Door-to-door marketing is a canvassing technique that is generally used for sales, marketing, advertising, or campaigning, in which the person or persons walk from the door of one house to the door of another, trying to sell or advertise a product or service to the general public or gather information. People who use this sales approach are often called traveling salesmen, or the archaic name drummer, to “drum up” business. This technique is also sometimes called direct sales. A variant of this involves cold calling first, when another sales representative attempts to gain agreement that a salesperson should visit.

With the realization of telephone “Do Not Call” lists it is becoming increasingly more difficult to connect with consumers and business people. An emerging trend is the deployment of very professional, highly skilled door-to-door canvassers to drive product sales and brand awareness.

Coordinating, training and motivating these teams to produce results are at the very core of Fulcrum’s proven capabilities. Fulcrum has the knowledge and experience required to implement these programs, such as best days and times to canvass, who will sell the most product; male, female, young or mature and what geographics and demographics respond best to door-to-door marketing. Put Fulcrum’s experience to work for you and avoid the costly mistakes of trying to manage these programs in-house.

Hire and Train Door-to-Door Marketing Team

If you’re in charge of hiring people, that typically means that you’ve found success in Door To Door Marketing yourself. You know what it takes to be great, but now you’re stuck with an entirely new problem. How do you find others who will be just as good (if not better) and will stick around and grow into important influencers invested in the long term growth of the company? A great D2D sales company is a great recruiting company. So what does that greatness look like?

First off, you need to realize that you’re not going to hire a superstar every time. If you think you have found one, be careful. It’s not hard for someone to seem golden during one interview and you don’t want to be fooled.

Even if you think the candidate does have a lot of great experience working in the field for other companies, you have to realize that success doesn’t always translate. What worked for them at previous companies probably won’t work as well for you. In fact, their success will probably make them stubborn; after all, what reason do they have to follow your approach when they’ve figured out their own?

It’s also possible that the rep’s previous company might have had much better-developed training and selling systems than you do, and that system was the key reason they killed it. If you’re not developing a competitive system, what does that communicate about your company? The more dialed-in you are about a rep’s success, the more likely you are to attract and keep strong performers.

ABOUT FIELD MARKETING

WHAT IS FIELD MARKETING? Field marketing and marketing Professional in Indian Institute of Technology Bombay campus is becoming more popular for companies in various industries. A field marketing agency and  marketing Professional in Indian Institute of Technology Bombay campus tends to work in territories operating with reps within their own regions.

By handing out free samples and one off deals of their product around retail and events, consumers are getting a taste of the brands latest delicious treats and at the same time everyone loves free food! Need to Know Your Business

[siteorigin_widget class="SiteOrigin_Widget_Headline_Widget"][/siteorigin_widget]

The answer is a resounding YES!  If you are starting a business, your business venture should be something in which you have experience or professional training. The only exception to this rule is if you buy into a franchise, but it is especially true if you take over an existing business.  Sometimes there are people working in the business who can help provide institutional information about the business, but you need to make sure you trust the people giving you advice.  In those cases, the franchise company typically provides some training. (Even so, I would not suggest buying a food franchise if you have never worked in a restaurant.)

Which way?

If you buy an existing business, you must make sure the employees who are left are interested in the business being successful.  You also need to quickly determine who you can trust.  Many times the original owner stays on in some role for a couple years to make sure there’s a smooth transition, but there is no guarantee that the founder of the business will work hard for you either.

I have a friend who was an investment banker, who wanted to get into the production industry.  So, he researched the industry, found out who the major players were, and identified a business he wanted to buy in the Midwest.  The company he had his eye on was the top post-production house in that town.  He bought it for millions and then sunk millions more into it upgrading all of the equipment to HD and renovating the space so that people would just want to come by and hang out there and, of course, do business.  The place was a showpiece.  He even threw the industry Christmas party at his business location, so people would see how fabulous the place was on the inside.  Everything was steady the first year, but within three years of the purchase, he was out of business.

Why did this happen?  He should have had business lined up around the block with a facility like that, but because he didn’t know the industry, and more importantly – the culture of the industry so he made many costly mistakes.  Within the first year, three of his top producing editors left the company.  It wasn’t about the facility- his talent drove the demand – it was about the specific editor.  Then, advertising people followed the editor they wanted to work with.  He also rubbed industry people the wrong way by how he went about getting business; advertising creatives never respond favorably to being told what vendors to use.  He was friends with the clients of some of his customers and was perceived as trying to get his friends to strong arm their ad agencies into doing business with him.  He also turned off other production industry veterans in his town by being so flashy and bold.  This is a brilliant guy, who had plenty of resources to run his business, but he had no industry experience.  He also bought from a man who he couldn’t trust.  The former owner was not invested in his success. He was just looking for a payday. The former owner didn’t help him understand the culture of doing business in the advertising industry.  Not knowing how business was done in this industry, cost him his business.  He thought – if he built a top-notch state-of-the-art facility, that would increase the business – but it didn’t.  Here’s SmallBizlady’s rule about buying an existing business Do not just buy a business because you like their balance sheet.

I hold a degree in Broadcast Production from Virginia Tech.  I worked for six years in television as a news producer before I started my multimedia production company. Work for a business like the one you want to start for at least a couple of years before starting on your own. Do not start a daycare center if you have never worked with kids, just because you heard those kinds of businesses make a lot of money.

Door To Door Marketing

Face to Face Marketing and Door to Door Marketing

Nothing beats the reality that one gets when you can interact with potential clients face to face physically moving from door to door within a community or household to household, face to face field marketing is also called personal selling or door to door marketing, customers are met directly in order to sell their products, using this method of field marketing we rely on our skills and persuasive abilities. During the period where we get to interact with the client face to face we get more chance to pass across edible information which would be useful to all our customers at that time and it’s also an opportunity for us to get feedback and to gauge your opinion about our business.

Door to Door marketing and Face to Face marketing is a more effective traditional form of marketing, it’s one of the oldest forms of marketing and we use promotion as a means to drive sales to your company or business. There’s nothing more exhilarating than getting to interact with potential customers through face to face marketing and over the years customers are aware and very receptive to this marketing approach through supermarkets and public business places.

The benefit of this type of field marketing is that it can be done on a low budget, it is very cost effective and reaches a larger number of people per within a very short duration, in this short period of time where you have just a few minutes to convince the customers to take interest in your business, just a few minutes to build personal relations through five stages. By attention, interest, desire, conviction and action.  And what else do you benefit by using face to face marketing service?

It gives you the chance to build a certain level of confidence and trust with the customers, you get to break down communication barrier of communication and it gives you the opportunity to show clarity and answer any questions on the mind of the customers.

While many think that door to door marketing is getting neglected in this very era it still yields more results especially during startups of businesses, think about it. Other forms of marketing get lower results, emails get spammed, adverts go unnoticed and phone calls go unanswered so why not just take your business directly to them. It’s only through personal interaction that you get the chance to connect with the customer, you would be selling more than a product.

You would be selling your zeal, emotions and passion

We offer a wide range of marketing services to business of different functions in India, startup businesses are not left out and we cut across all methods of marketing services, with Door to Door marketing service we assist you our clients with reaching your target customers, our services which extends to all parts of India and we target customers who are ready to change their local services to yours.
