Situated on the banks of Godavari, Nashik is one of the most important cities of northern Maharashtra. It’s the third-largest urban area of Maharashtra, just preceding the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and the Pune Urban Region. Nashik is, in fact, the fourth most populous city in Maharashtra.
